Katherine Vessenes, JD,CFP®, RFC
President and Senior Financial Advisor

Since 1990, Katherine has been working with,
broker/dealers, financial advisors and large
insurance companies, teaching them how to do
the right thing by their clients. "My mission has
been to make sure every advisor puts the
needs of their client first," says Katherine.
A popular keynote speaker, Katherine has
written three books and almost 100 articles. Bloomberg Press said she is "America's best known
authority on the legal and ethical
issues facing financial advisors today."
Vestment Advisors Financial is delighted that
Katherine will now put all that sound advice
and experience into practice working directly
with clients as our Senior Financial Advisor and
as coach to other advisors in our group.
Katherine knows that most clients have
concerns about two things: their financial future
and selecting the right advisor. Choosing an
advisor with integrity is a vital part of getting a
sense of peace about their financial future. She says, "I have two goals for every client: I want
to be the kind of financial advisor whose ethics
and character would be good enough for my
own mother; and I want to help each client
create enough wealth so they have the resources to live a life with no regrets–-the life
they have always dreamed about."
Between 1989 and 1991, Katherine was Vice
President and Officer of the IDS Mutual fund
Group, (now Riversource), where she was
legal counsel to the independent directors, including President Gerald Ford, and other Fortune 20 CEOs. Later she created two ethics
programs for advisors with American Express,
in conjunction with the ICFP. She has also
served on the CFP® Board of Ethics and
Professional Review. Her previous business
development clients included: American
Express, ING, Merrill Lynch, Financial Planning Association, Northwestern Mutual, Charles Schwab, Wachovia and many others.
Katherine and her husband and business
partner, Peter, live in Shorewood, Minnesota. They have three adult children who all live in Boston. Katherine loves to antique, especially for Japanese prints, and has recently taken up kettlebells to stay in shape.
